After this month, there will only be one Geek Alert every month because I have decided to cancel the My Geek Box subscription because I'm not enjoying it as much as I am Loot Crate but I have liked most of the items I got with My Geek Box and they have a great gift shop so I might pop back every so often.
This month's Loot Crate theme is Fantasy and Loot Crate implied that items were going to revolve around Dungeons & Dragons, Game of Thrones, The Princess Bride, and Harry Potter. I was thrilled when I found this out because I like most of these.

Yet again, the inside of the crate embodies the theme perfectly once you turn the crate inside out to look like a table from a fantasy story that knights gather around before a quest. I think it is inspired and I wish I was that creative.

Once again, Loot Crate have given us subscribers a T-shirt that isn't black, something they should keep doing or at least occasionally because it's nice to have some variety; black T-shirts are great as well - most of my wardrobe is black - but having a splash of colour once in a while is wonderful. I love the design on this shirt as well because it isn't glaringly obvious that it is a Dungeons & Dragons T-shirt.
The Princess Bride, a classic film I haven't seen for a while yet love, and these are a fantastic idea for any Princess Bride fan as characters are used as the Jack, Queen, and King while they are partnered with beautiful designs for the spades, hearts, diamonds, and clubs which is all on great quality card. I don't play card games very often but at least I have some lovely new cards to use if I have the random urge to play poker or something.

I grew up reading Harry Potter and watching the films, falling in love with books and whining about what they did wrong, so I loved this item in this month's crate just for the connection it has to Harry Potter. While the picture is a bit lousy, with the sun reflecting on the packaging, this circular bag tag will probably end up on my backpack in the end, though I may change the plastic cord that is attached to the tag.
I was thrilled when I found the Game of Thrones magnets because there hasn't been any magnets in any of the Loot Crates for a while now and they have helped brighten up my bedside table (which are metal drawers). I haven't seen a lot of the TV series really but I love the books and these magnets are fantastic, bringing focus onto the main houses of Game of Thrones and the Song of Ice and Fire books.
I love the quirky element of this USB drive as it incorporates the direwolf of the Stark house with a handy piece of equipment. The house of Stark is by far my favourite, probably because Sean Bean was the patriarch of the family in the TV series so I'm glad it's a direwolf; plus, a USB stick is always welcome because there are extremely useful nowadays.
You can't really have something in the fantasy genre without a king or a queen or some kind of ruler and this inflatable crown allows us Looters to pretend to be royalty. It's silly things like this that makes Loot Crate stand out from My Geek Box, something I am thrilled about as it shows a sense of humour.
I have to admit that this is a random addition to the Fantasy Loot Crate even though it is Dungeons and Dragons themed because it doesn't strike me as something you would find in anything fantasy related. However, it may be something silly to wear as a headband every so often, mixing up my look for a change. I might have preferred something else but I don't hate this bowtie as it is wonderfully random.
Fantasies mean quests and quests mean maps with 'x's marking the spot so this badge is perfect and makes a wonderful addition to the others that are stuck on my bag which is ever growing.
This month's Loot Crate is wonderful even though I was a bit apprehensive about the Dungeons and Dragons element of it because I don't find the appeal of it at all. However, they are subtle which I am glad about and I like the T-shirt. Everything else I loved because they have something to do with books, TV shows, and films I enjoy; Loot Crate has always excited me so even though I have cancelled the subscription I have for My Geek Box, I am intending to keep my Loot Crate one until I am become less satisfied with them which hopefully won't happen because they have exclusives, something you don't get with My Geek Box.
