Geek Alert - September Loot Crate

Oh god, oh god, we're all going to die [with excitement because the September Loot Crate is here].
Paraphrased from a Serenity film quote, Wash is a great character.

So it's that time of the month again and my Loot Crate arrived today.  Last month I was thrilled with this subscription service and I loved my random box of themed stuff and I wholeheartedly agree that it's a Christmas present every month from a family member who knows you're a geek/nerd/gamer.  As I've said before, I don't like to hear my own voice so I'm going to continue my blogs on them.

This month's theme is Galactic and while I was a bit apprehensive about it because it revolved around Star Trek, Star Wars, Alien, and Firefly and while I love Firefly and have seen Star Trek and Star Wars, I'm not a massive fan of the latter two.  Fortunately, I liked everything in the Loot Crate.

Just like last month, the inside of the box was really cool because it was decorated like the cargo bay of Serenity, Mal's ship in Firefly with a little hitchhiker hidden in the back which I think is awesome and shows a great level of imagination.  Everything is shiny in my world now.

Like last month, there were figures in the Loot Crate and this month, there were three, one of which was specially made for Loot Crate and that ladies and gents was a Tribble from the original Star Trek series.  He is adorable and may just be a bundle of fluff but he's mine now and I have the urge to call him Tiberius.

The Alien series is not my favourite thing in the world so unfortunately, while I appreciate the ReAction figure of the Alien, I am not that thrilled about it so I passing it on to my best friend and her boyfriend are in love with the series.  It is pretty cool still though because it glows in the dark and looks freaky and extra alien-y.

What I was most excited about was the Funko Mystery Mini figurine because I am obsessed with Funko figurines, as people may have noticed in the last Loot Crate post when I got Groot and Raphael.  The fact it was a Mystery Mini figurine made it intriguing because I like surprises, always have.  It was even better when I found that it was Mal Reynolds from Firefly and now he's sat alongside the rest of the gang on my bookshelf.

On top of the Mal figurine, they gave us all money from a bank robbery from Firefly.  In some circles, I'm rich.  It's now a mat for Mal to stand on too.

Once again, a magnet was thrown into the box and this time it's a Star Wars magnet and the picture is similar to that of a retro arcade game which is awesome aesthetically because I like that graphic design style and it reminds me of Tron (the original) and old games I used to play when I was a kid.  Look at it, happy sitting there on my bedside table next to Deadpool

Another Star Wars addition to the Loot Crate is the wonderful Star Wars poster of Han Solo encased in carbonite which is now on my chest of drawers near my guitar and other posters because I prefer the original Star Wars trilogy to the latest trilogy.  My geeky friends aren't getting their hands on it.

This month's digital content was much better this month, as I am not that bothered about games all of the time, I'm a bit set in my ways sometimes.  Fortunately, this time, the digital content is digital comic books which I plan on reading because I find new comic books intriguing.

What was quite weird in this month's crate was the addition of Pop Rocks, which look like little space rocks and are very tasty.  There were three different variations and Loot Crate made a good call giving me the Blue Razz flavour, my favourite flavour.

So my badge collection is continuing to build and this month's badge has Mal, R2-D2, Darth Vader, and others featured to commemorate this month's theme, Galactic.  Again, it's been popped with last month's one and my other bits of geekdom.

I wasn't as thrilled with the Galactic crate as I was with the Heroes crate and there wasn't a T-shirt again but I think this can only be expected with a box filled with mystery stuff every month.  Hopefully I will enjoy next month's one, though I don't know the theme yet.
