It's the middle of the month again and that means Loot Crate is here, which is always a great surprise, whether I come home from work and it's in my porch or I'm home when it's delivered. Loot Crate is always good because there is so much imagination that goes into it.
This month's Loot Crate theme is Unite with the items all revolving around teams who are united such as the Avengers, the Power Rangers, and Rick and Morty. I was excited about this month's Loot Crate because I knew there was going to be something Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers related in it which I grew up watching and was one of my favourite shows. It didn't hurt that there was going to be something to do with Marvel too.
One of the contributing factors to originally stopping my subscription to My Geek Box was that the boxes, though they contained stuff I found interesting, there was very little imagination put in where as Loot Crate go all out and decorate the box itself as well as fill it with wonderful items. When you think of a team, you think of a place they all come together and where better to come together, other than at a bar or a lounge to share a drink, than a locker room. The detail is wonderful and every month, the level of imagination gets higher and higher I think.

It's Morphin' Time!!! I grew up with the Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers and I loved it and the characters so I was thrilled when this month's big item was a Green/White Power Ranger T-shirt because Tommy was my favourite character in the Power Rangers franchise. The design is wonderful as well, invoking a vintage style, because it's simple yet brings back great memories.
I have no idea what the Bravest Warriors is but I am always intrigued when I receive new comic books from Loot Crate as they are always something new and exciting to read. The magazine that comes with the crate said this is a collection of five short comics so it will be a nice quick read and I can't wait to dive into this new world.
MAD Magazine is one of these iconic American items that come up in TV shows and films from the States but I have never had the chance to find out what it is seen as they also stopped publishing it in the UK. However, thanks to Loot Crate now I can which is another great thing about this subscription box, it introduces you to new things. It seems to be something I would enjoy because I like to see and read parodies of different franchises because they provide a new insight into something I may love. Thank you Loot Crate for something new to read.
While I love animated films, I am not overly bothered by animated TV shows so I have never experienced Rick and Morty first hand - I've seen The Simpsons couch gag where they are featured but that's it. This is a great item for someone who is a fan of the show because it features a lot of different characters that I can only assume are in it and even though puzzles are perceived as dull, the concentration needed to complete this was high and I found that I was compelled to complete it as quickly as possible. I'm glad for the distraction but I do wish there was something else in this month's crate because I wasn't that fussed over this item and would have preferred something Justice League related for example, another one of my favourite teams.

This Marvel Superhero Ice Cube Tray is fantastic as it is versatile and can be used to make sweets or jello shots as well as ice cubes out of it; is it bad that my brain automatically went to making alcoholic items with it? They are a lot more interesting than plain old square ice cube trays and kids will love them. It is only fitting that there is a contest to concoct a Marvel themed drink/cocktail so I am trying to come up with some ideas so I may put them in another post later on and on my Instagram.

Sometimes when you get themed shoelaces, they are too short because they are designed for kids' shoes, especially superhero themed ones, but fortunately, Loot Crate were sensible and chose 48" laces which fit in my Wrangler boots which I was so excited about, the big geek that I am. Other than the T-shirt and the ice cube tray, the laces are my favourite part about this month's Loot Crate.

Anything Marvel related is always a winner with me and this Avengers: Age of Ultron decal is a definite winner for me because it adds to my geeky car which has a Black Widow on the petrol tank cover and Captain America air freshener hanging in it. I love my geeky car and I love the Avengers, what can be better.
Much like The Bravest Warriors, I have no idea what Team Fortress is, let alone Team Fortress 2. Fortunately, I have been informed that it is a team-based brawl game so this may be something to investigate in the future but I may save the Team Fortress 2 Button Set for someone who would appreciate them more than me even though I do like the designs on it.
Surprisingly, there were two different versions of this month's badge, one with Batman and Superman shaking hands [pictured below] or Captain America and Iron Man shaking hands. It wouldn't take a genius to know that I would have preferred the latter but I still love the Batman and Superman one because they are two of my favourite heroes, no matter how flawed they are. This is a great addition to my collection as it complements others well and the badge is another reason I continue my subscription to Loot Crate as the designs are great, just like the inside of the crates.
Overall, I thrilled with most of the items in this month's crate, except maybe the Rick and Morty puzzle because I am not a fan of animated TV shows - other than American Dad and The Simpsons - but I loved the T-shirt and the Marvel related items. One improvement could have been having something Justice League related, another great team that was neglected from this crate surprisingly but it did allow Loot Crate to shine the light on some other great teams. While I know I decided to cancel My Geek Box last month because I wasn't bothered about this month's theme but they announced that next month, there is going to be an exclusive Funko Pop! that is coming with the new theme, Abilities, and I felt compelled to get it so there will be an additional Geek Alert post next month and maybe more after but I will decide when I have more information.
