[paraphrased from Dean Winchester]

It's Loot Crate time!!! Once a month, a box full of random geek and nerd items arrives on the steps outside my house and it's always exciting to find out what is in it because it's always weird and wonderful, even if I'm not sure on the theme.
This month's theme is Battle and that could have meant anything, though one thing that I knew was going to be in the Loot Crate was something to do with Assassin's Creed, which was one reason why I was considering cancelling my subscription but I decided against it because I like the random things I get from Loot Crate.
This month, the inside of the crate was more interactive because you had to cut up parts of the crate to make it into a battle arena for Mega Man and Ryu which was fun to do. With the various poses that the two characters come in, which were in the back of the Loot Crate magazine, you could make your battle sequence and have hours of fun if you wanted, placing them in various scenarios.

I knew that there was a T-shirt this month because they informed me through an email but, like last month, I had no idea what the design was going to be. I was thrilled when I opened the box and found this Ninja vs. Pirate T-shirt which was designed by Josh Mirman because the design is so unusual, with words relating to both ninja and pirate making up their respective half of the design. This is my favourite shirt from Loot Crate so far and I am intrigued to see what the next one will be.

I thoroughly enjoy the Assassin's Creed games and the stories behind them but I have yet to play Assassin's Creed Unity because I don't have a PS4 or Xbox One, though I suppose I could play it on my laptop if I so choose. However, I really liked the fact that one of the items this month was something to do with Assassin's Creed and I think this will be a great collectible in the future.

I had to look up what and who Mega Man is because I didn't have a clue when I opened the box because I wasn't a big gamer during the 1990s, considering that I was only born in 1991 and we didn't have a games console until I was in double digits. Having read up on the background of Mega Man, I think the helmet replica is quite cool really and now sits above my PS3 where I am starting to build a game geek collection in front of my TV.

I have always been a Sony girl when it comes to gaming systems so I have never really played Halo, though I did have a go years ago when I was round my friend's house so I wasn't overly bothered about the Halo figure that I received this month so he may be donated to a fellow geek in the future. It is a great little design though and very detailed yet simple and I am sure would make a great collectible for someone.
This brings back memories, playing Street Fighter with my friend when I was a kid, though I can't remember where, but I remember them fondly. It's such an iconic yet simple part of the game that it is instantly recognisable and would be a great addition to any collection.
This month, there were two bits of digital content, a code for comics and a code for a game; the first of the two intrigued me because I find comics interesting and am looking forward to reading them in the future but I am not bothered about the game because I don't play games on the computer very often unless it involves The Sims.
As always, I got a badge for this month and it features Mega Man and Ryu fighting like the inside of the crate and is a great addition to my collection which are now scattered across my backpack, though it's on my jeans in this picture.
The jury is still out on Loot Crate because recently I haven't been overly excited about the theme, even though I've liked aspects of the crate when they arrive. I did like parts of this month's crate, though I may give some bits to friends as presents because they'll appreciate them more than me in the end. I am thrilled with the shirt so on that alone, it was a successful crate but I did like the fact I got some new reading material with the digital content.
Sometime this month, probably in the next few days, there will be another Geek Alert post about another subscription service but based in the UK like Loot Crate because it intrigued me.
