Run! Hide! Tis the time to be full of Fear!
It's that time of the month again and Loot Crate is here and I have loved both of the previous boxes I've had because they've both been themes I liked and even this month, though apprehensive, I was intrigued by the prospect and I think I will be for a while yet. As I've said before, I don't like to hear my own voice so I'm going to continue my blogs on them.
This month's theme is Fear and, like last month, I was a bit apprehensive about this month's box because it had items from The Walking Dead and Capcom (makers of Dead Rising and such), none of which I wasn't really into until recently, as one of the guys I work with gave me his The Walking Dead box set for season 1 and 2.
The level imagination is still high this month as it has been with the past two months; the sheer amount of detail was wonderful as zombies try to get into the Wrench-O-Rama. There's weapons to kill the zombies as if it's a hideout which was clever.
I don't normally speak about the Loot Crate magazine that is inside the Loot Crate every month because it is just a normal magazine with interviews and such as well as what is inside the box but this month I thought I'd mention it because it had a twist; it came with old school 3D glasses which was a great change from the normal magazine. Odd little changes like this, mixing it up every so often, excite me because I want to see what Loot Crate can come up with next time.
This is the first T-shirt I've received from Loot Crate and I was a little disappointed because they sent me the wrong size (which they are rectifying now). However, the design is interesting and despite freaking some family members out, I think it's adorable.
While I admit now that I have never sat through the entirety of Sharknado, I actually found this book fascinating because it showed a lot of imagination with how we can survive all these hypothetical unnatural disasters. It's one of these random things I would never buy for myself but would make a funny conversation piece later in life I think. I imagine sometime soon that this will disappear from my room because my sister finds Sharknado highly amusing and wants to read this.
This is so random that I didn't know what it was until I read the Loot Crate magazine then had a fight with the pen to get the lid, which meant fighting with the blade bit leading to some swearing at the sharp edges. It's a clever design, incorporating a weapon from Dead Rising 3 and making it multifuctional. However, I wasn't particularly bothered about this part of the Loot Crate because I don't any of the Dead Rising games so I may save this for a Dead Rising fan I may meet in the future.
Exclusive covers of comic books is another reason behind my signing up to Loot Crate because I enjoy reading comic books, especially new series that I would never think about reading, and Loot Crate have fulfilled this desire this month by providing new reading material. Side note: I didn't realise that there was a comic book for The Walking Dead. Every day is a school day. I can't wait to read this.
I love this art print because it's just so random and as with other Loot Crate items, it's not something I would buy myself but I love the artist's style and how JSalvador, the artist, has made The Walking Dead quite sweet looking despite it's gruesome content. I may get this framed or something because it would look good in my room with my eclectic collection of pictures. As well as framing this picture, I am considering looking into more of JSalvador's artwork.
Every month, Loot Crate put some digital content codes in the crate, and this month was for a skin on a game which I don't play so I may not use this and I'm not quite sure what to do with it.
Boredom can lead to many silly situations and even though I am 22 and should have grown out of this, according to the other adults in the world, I feel I may have some fun with the tattoos that came in the Fear crate, pretending I've been bitten by a zombie or a vampire. People may think I'm strange, or being childish but if you can't have fun on your days off, when can you.
I used to love these sweets when I was a kid and used to eat them all of the time until the local shop stopped selling them. Loot Crate is always full of surprises and this little surprise brought back this wave of memories that I am pleased came, sitting in the park with my friends seeing who could eat the sour sweets.
Once again, my badge collection is growing and this month's badge features zombies we should all fear in commemoration of this month's theme. While in the photo below it is on my bed, it is now sat on backpack with the other two Loot Crate badges I have.
I'm looking forward to what next month's crate holds because they are constant surprise. However, I do wonder what the obsession is with zombies, they're getting a bit old now, so I'm not entirely happy with this month's crate even though there was some weird parts that I really liked, such as the art print and the T-shirt which has freaked a few people out. On top of Loot Crate next month, I signed up for another subscription service like it called My Geek Box based in the UK to work out if either of them are worth the money I spend on them so there will be another Geek Alert post next month too.
Update: My new shirt arrived quickly and I am extremely happy with it, especially because my kid sister stole the big one to use as a nightshirt.
